A wrought iron chimney crane or sway.
Substantially built and very heavy being full height and double action. The brass handled lever raises or lowers the hook from which would hang a cooking pot. The long arm swings in or out of the fire opening. The vertical post registers in a recess in the hearth whilst the top of the post is located in a large eyelet, which is supplied. In style it looks more Georgian than Victorian with its clean and functional lines. It could make a brilliant barbecue or garden feature. This item has now been derusted and painted in a heat proof matt black which can be burnished easily.( See other adverts for an assortment of parts to make a Georgian hob grate barbecue plus antique cooking implements.) Dimensions: 52" High x 35"Wide. The chain lever is 22.5" from the main vertical post £395. [email protected] Derby (01332) 840256 |
